Plum Torte

1 c Sugar
1/2 c Butter
1 c Flour
1 ts Baking powder
2 Eggs
20 Plums; pitted, halves

Topping:
Sugar
Lemon juice
Cinnamon
Nutmeg

Cream sugar and butter. Add flour, baking powder, eggs and beat well. Spoon batter into 9" springform or cheesecake pan. Place plum halves skin side up on top of batter. Sprinkle lightly with sugar and lemon juice. Sprinkle with about 1 tsp cinnamon and a small amount of nutmeg.

Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. Serve plain, with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
