Measurements

Sour Cream Chocolate Cake

Yield: 12 Servings

1 3/4 c Flour
1 t Baking soda
1/2 t Salt
1/2 c Butter
1 1/2 c Sugar
1/2 t Vanilla
2 Eggs
3 oz Unsweetened chocolate, melted and cooled
1/2 c Sour cream
1 c Cold water

Preheat oven to 350F. Grease and flour two 8x1.5" round baking pans. Mix the flour, baking soda and salt together. With a high speed mixer, cream the butter until light. Add sugar and vanilla and continue to cream the mixture until it is very fluffy. Adding the eggs one at a time, mix on high speed until the mixture is well combined. Slowly mix in the chocolate and sour cream. Alternately, add the water and the flour mixture, in small amounts, until just mixed. Pour into the prepared baking pans.
Bake for about 35 min. or until done. Cool in the pans for about 15 min. Then remove from the pans and cool completely on the wire racks.
