Seven Layer Bars

serves 10-12

These bars are very easy to make and require very little time. These are a favorite with many kids and adults.

1 stick of butter, softened
1 cup crushed graham crackers
1 cup coconut
1 6-oz pkg chocolate chips
1 6-oz pkg butterscotch chips
1 can sweetened condensed milk (Eagle is what I use)
1 cup chopped nuts

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Crust:
Crush graham crackers (about 6) You can either put them in a zip lock bag and crush them with your hands or use a kitchen-aid mixer on low or medium speed. You don't want to be left with large pieces of cracker.
Mix butter with graham crackers. The kitchen-aid mixer works best when doing this because it mixes evenly. You can also use a hand mixer. Line an 8x12" pan with parchment or wax paper.

Spread the crust mixture across the bottom and pat with your fingers until the bottom is covered.

Adding the layers:
In the following order add the rest of the layers.
Coconut, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and chopped nuts.

When adding the sweetened condensed milk, cover the entire top. If it's not spread evenly, one place might have too much and be gooey.

Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.

Allow the bars to sit and harden for about 4 hours.
