Make a hatching chick - step 1

Start by rolling a large piece of white sugarpaste into a ball.....

Using the small knife stab into the ball at angles to make a zig-zag all around the top of the ball....like you would if you were making your tomatoes fancy....

remove the top of the ball.....

Make a small ball of yellow sugarpaste and squash it gently into the middle of the ball.....this is the chick's body

Now make a small ball of yellow sugarpaste and stick it onto the middle of the other yellow piece of paste....this is the chick's head   Next: Finish your hatching chick
