Cake Decorating: John Deere Cake Decorating Instructions

You will need the following to decorate your own John Deere Cake:

Decorations used:
1 John Deere tractor , 1 red barn

Cake Decorating Tips:
Tip sut-233 for piping the grass borders and the hay stacks
Tip dct-350 for piping the leaves
Tip sdt-3 for piping the writing and the dots in the field
Tip dc-1446a for piping the comb squares (fields) in alternating directions
Airbrush Colors:
You could simply use colored icing or draw onto the cake if you do not have an airbrush system.
Green for the square fields
Brown for the square fields

Colored Icing:
White frosting to ice your entire cake
Yellow for the hay and the writing
Green for the borders, the leaves, the dots and the writing
Brown for the hay

Cake Decorating Instructions & Assembly:
  • Bake and ice your favorite cake.
  • Comb the cake surface to create square fields in alternating directions.
  • Airbrush some fields green.
  • Airbrush some fields brown.
  • Pipe the writing and the dots in the field using green icing.
  • Pipe over the green writing using yellow icing.
  • Pipe the haystacks with yellow icing.
  • Pipe the leaves using green icing.
  • Pipe the brown hay.
  • Pipe the borders using green and yellow icing.
  • Place decorations on the cake.
