Cake Decorating: Space Shuttle Cake Decorating Instructions

You will need the following to decorate your own Space Shuttle Cake:

Decorations used:
1 Space Shuttle and launch pad figurine

Cake Decorating Tips:
Tip sdt-4 for piping the writing, the lines on the launch road, the small smoke drops and the fire under the shuttle
Tip dc-1a for piping the pillows of smoke under the shuttle
Tip sut-233 for piping the grass
Tip sdt-21 for piping the shell borders
Airbrush Colors:
You could simply use colored icing or draw onto the cake if you do not have an airbrush system.
Green for the grass
Black for the launch road
Red for the fire under the shuttle

Colored Icing:
White frosting to ice your entire cake and for the pillows of smoke
Yellow for the lines on the road, the writing and the fire under the shuttle
Green for the grass
Blue for the borders

Cake Decorating Instructions & Assembly:
  • Bake and ice your favorite cake.
  • In black airbrush the road in the middle of the cake.
  • Airbrush the grass green.
  • Pipe the pillows of smoke in white frosting.
  • Pipe the flames, the lines on the road and the writing with yellow icing.
  • Pipe the grass in green icing.
  • Airbrush the flames and the pillows of smoke in red.
  • Pipe the borders using blue icing.
  • Place decorations on the cake.
