 Vanilla Sorbet with Fruit
1 cup heavy whipping cream  
1 cup milk 
1/3 cup corn syrup 
1 oz sugar 
1 vanilla bean, split  
 
Put all ingredients except the vanilla bean in a heavy saucepan.
Scrape the seeds from the vanilla bean into the mixture with the
tip of a small knife, then drop in the vanilla bean pods. 
 
Bring the mixture to a boil. Strain through a fine-meshed sieve and cool. 
 
Freeze to a soft stage in an ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions, freeze soft. 
 
Topping: (make the day before) 
2-3 cups sliced strawberries  
1/2 cup sugar 
raspberries 
blueberries  
Whipping cream (optional) 
 
Combine Strawberries and sugar in a large bowl.  Refrigerate overnight. 
Top Sorbet with the strawberry topping and add a couple raspberries and blueberries. Top with cream, if desired.
