A Mother's Day Tea Table Gift Cake
Step-by-Step Cake Decorating Instruction
by Joanne Mackley
| Instead of using Sugarpaste (rolled fondant) (recipe
- buy it),
you could also use Marzipan (recipe
- buy it).
Play Dough (buy
it) could be used to create the teapot, cups, napkins, miniature
cakes etc, as long as these items won't be placed on any real cakes or
other food items! |
Let's get started: Cover the table with a clean table
cloth
| Before you start modeling your tea table teapot, cup and
saucer, napkins, tea spoon, cake etc. you need to
cover the table (cake) with a clean table cloth. |
 |
Roll out the pink sugarpaste thinner than you would for
covering a cake. Make sure it is larger than the top of the
cake.
Using a scalloped cutter or the edge of a circle cutter,
cut the cloth to fit. Remember to include an overhang.
Wet the surface of the cake and cover the cake with the
cloth.
Pipe the edge with a little royal icing and add some
icing blossoms.
Next: Now you can make the table
set.
