step-by-step cake decorating instructions

Get ready - Step 1 - Step 2 - Step 3 - final cake

Preparations

Before you start:

Stick the covered cakes to their respective boards....
6" onto the 9" gold cake board
10" onto the 10" gold cake board
12" onto the 16" gold cake board
Please note that the 10" cake is placed on a 10" board as we do not want the board to show.

Now you can get the chocolate ready.....

Using the small sharp knife reduce the block of dark chocolate into a pile of shavings....

Melt the Chocolate using a bain marie or by placing some of the chocolate shavings into the small bowl/measuring jug....

Place the small bowl/measuring jug inside the large bowl/measuring jug which should be filled with hot water.

Stir slowly using the spoon until smooth.....temper the chocolate.

Make several paper icing bags and fill one with some melted chocolate......

Place a sheet of grease-proof paper/ wax paper or silicone paper (which-ever you prefer) onto the table.
